Perhaps Matty Blair showed yesterday just why he was allowed to leave Fleetwood, which he did during the week when he went to Northampton for a loan spell for a month.
I watched the Football League show and his effort against York, one of his former sides, wouldn’t be one he’ll be wanting to see again that often as it looked harder to miss than it did to score? I’m not a professional footballer and maybe it was harder than it looked but heading the ball back across goal, instead of on target when the goal was empty isn’t how you want to start a loan.
Had it gone in it would have been a great reminder to all at the Cod Army, such are the margins fine I suppose.
Blair was sent out by Graham Alexander to build up his fitness, get some games and maybe build up his confidence as well, as this might have taken a knock since he came to Highbury as most of his involvement has come from the bench.
I’m not sure what his overall game was like on Saturday but those keeping tabs on him wouldn’t have reported that missed effort back to Alexander with too much praise given to him, it was one of those that you laugh at as long as it’s not happening to you!
What the Cod Army does is more important at the moment and we got the points on Saturday, a match report should be added later.

Seems to have been a weekend for rather good misses across the leagues!
Did you see this one though?
