Man of the Match Charlie Taylor and Stewart Murdoch have both looked back to the scoreless draw against Scunthorpe United.

Speaking to the Official Site firstly was Taylor who Sky Sports voted as the man of the match on the night.

The 20 year old Leeds United loanee put in a fantastic performance and won the penalty that Steven Schumacher unfortunately missed, and he feels Scunthorpe couldn’t have begrudged us the win if we had managed to convert one of the chances we had given our overall performance.

‘I thought I played well and, as a team, we were unlucky not to come away with three points. I was pleased to play the ninety and I felt we switched the ball out to me quite a bit. I had the opportunity to get one on one with the defender and I managed to get a few crosses in, where we had a bit of joy.’

Taylor goes on to say that he feels Fleetwood can be pleased with their return of four points from a possible six over our last two games, but the Scunthorpe game did feel like it was two points lost to him.

Stewart Murdoch also piped up following the game and in general terms agreed with everything that Taylor had said himself, in terms of it being a good return from the last two games point wise.

And the 23 year old midfielder added that not only could we have won the game against Scunthorpe, but he was delighted that we managed to continue our unbeaten run in 2014.

‘We came here on the back of a great result at Burton, so we were confident that we could get three points. There was a couple of moments in the game, if they went our way, then we would have managed to get the three points.’

Despite the disappointment of effectively dropping two points, he does also add though that it’s another good point on the board against a team that have been in very good form themselves, so whilst there is that disappointment, the positives do in many ways level that out.
