Fleetwood Town have today released Shaun Beeley, Ryan Crowther, Steven Gillespie and Alex Titchiner.

Full back Beeley has been with us since November 2007 and has scored three goals over the course of 297 club appearances.

The 25 year old played his part in our promotions to the Conference North, Conference National and Football League Two and earnt an England C cap against Gibralter back in November 2011.

This season he has not made an appearance for the club, but did have a successful loan spell at Bury.

I believe he has now moved to Morecambe.

Crowther has also seen his opportunities limited since he joined us from Hyde back in November 2011. The 25 year old winger has played in 30 games over all and scored twice.

Gillespie signed for us back in the summer of 2012, and the 28 year old striker has scored four times in 25 appearances.

Titchiner made his debut for the club back in September 2012 after joining us from Witton Albion. Since then he has gone on to make a further nine appearances for the club.

The 22 year old has also had loan spells at FA Halifax Town and Chester.

The club wishes all four players the very best for their futures, and thanks them for their efforts whilst they have been with us.

Manager Graham Alexander commented about their departures.

‘This is just a part of football and each club has a turnover of players. All four are good lads and I’m sure they’ll each find a club and continue their respective careers. Shaun, in particular, has been at the club a long time and enjoyed success. We genuinely wish them all the best.’

Always disappointing when a long standing servant moves on, especially when they have played such an important role in a clubs success as Beeley has, but this does happen in football and clubs and players have to move on sometimes.
