It’s Got To Be Alexander’s?

Fleetwood could be on for a double award this week as Graham Alexander and Jon Parkin have been nominated for the League 2 Manager and Player of the Month for January.

If the Cod Army weren’t awarded with at least one of these I’d be surprised.

Due to winning four out of five League 2 games in January, with the other being a draw, even though other managers competed against might be able to boast an unbeaten month as well with the Cod Army turning a disappointing end to one year into a grand start to another Alexander’s name must be written on this one.

The problem is often winning an award like this coincides with a downturn in fortunes.

With that in mind it might not be such a good thing that our manager did go on and win this award then but we lost our last League 2 game though so all being well that defeat is already out the way.

Parkin might have a tougher job on his hands to help secure this double but he still scored a few goals last month and played an important role in those wins.

We’ll know on Friday if one, or both, will be monthly winners.
