Cod Army Preview: Burton v Fleetwood

A real test of Fleetwood’s ability to remain in and around the play off places, if not the automatic positions in League 2, will come on Saturday when we face Burton.

Burton have some injury doubts with Chris Hussey and Adam Buxton both troubled by knocks and Adam McGurk have been suffering with illness and Burton manager Gary Rowett has bemoaned the lack of number he has.

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff (cheekbone) and Michael Symes (knee) are certainly out for Burton.

A fractured fibula, thankfully not a break, means Jeff Hughes is out for the Cod Army but the crude tackle he suffered against Hartlepool last week isn’t as bad as it could’ve been but he’ll still be out for several weeks.

Jamille Matt (ankle) is also out for a while but new signing Matty Hughes might come into the squad? I can’t see that Graham Alexander would’ve signed him if he wasn’t viewed for the here and now as well as the future.

We’re on a good run, and picking up another win would keep the momentum running but Burton are now pushovers so I’m not going to be left unhappy if we end up taking a point from this one at the Pirelli Stadium.
