Alexander Hails Strike Force

Manager Graham Alexander has hailed the performances of Jon Parkin, David Ball and Daniel Carr as all three found the score sheet in our victory over Accrington Stanley.

Speaking to the press following the game, the gaffer was obviously delighted to see us bring to an end our run of three losses on the trot, and of course starting 2014 with a victory was the perfect way to enter the New Year.

‘It was a good performance and we’re glad to be back on track. We were very solid, we played the game we wanted to play but we looked a real good threat at the other end, without a shadow of a doubt. All three strikers scoring was brilliant because we’ve struggled in that department of late.’

Fleetwood took the lead after only 6 minutes thanks to a goal from Parkin and Sarcevic doubled our advantage just after half time, before Ball then completed matters with our third.

The stats show just how much we dominated the game and we really could’ve scored more on the day to be honest, but it’s a good victory and something we have to build on again now.

With that run brought to an end, everybody should’ve received a good boost of confidence and we’ll now be looking to take that into the game against Dagenham and Redbridge when we return to football action following the break for the FA Cup fixtures.

It was a disappointing run of form we’d been on, hopefully this has seen the corner turned and that potent strikeforce can guide us back into the play-offs and more.

Good return to scoring ways especially with Ball and Matt at varying stages of fitness again. Hopefully we can get that consistency back now.

Not stopping reports of further striking interest is it? Maybe it’ll keep them on their toes if nothing else?
