Nick Haughton’s making great progress with Fleetwood this season, although he hasn’t yet been able to play a full 90-minutes.

Graham Alexander has told the Gazette that he’s been really impressed by the former Runcorn man, who will be very much a part of his first-team starting XI soon enough as he if ‘forcing it’, but for now it is a case of him needing to bide his time.

It’ll come though….

Alexander said: ‘Nick’s time will come. Of course it will, because he will force it.

That’s what these young players have to do, they have to force the issue.’

Tyler Forbes has been used as the example to Haughton, and the other younger players at Highbury, as the one to look up to and shows what can be achieved and what can happen – it’ll happen for the 20-year-old soon enough.

With Haughton ‘coming on’ and not being ‘far off’ it could literally be just a game or two away before he does get a start, but Alexander’s keen that he can last the 90-minutes, which he doesn’t quite feel he will at the moment….
