Josh Morris has called the last four weeks a ‘a really memorable’ month for him as he left April as the League Two Player of the Month winner.

Speaking to the Official Site the 22 year old on loan Blackburn Rovers midfielder has had a fantastic month really, and received the initial nomination after scoring his first professional goal on Good Friday against Cheltenham Town, and then grabbing his second as ten man Fleetwood took victory over Wycombe Wanderers in the very next game.

‘I’m delighted to be honest, it’s been a good month. I have managed to get amongst the score sheet, it has been really memorable. I have waited for the first one for a long time and then two came in the second week, it was a great week and we got some great results on the back of it.’

As for his favourite having now notched up two, Morris admits the first one was a bit more special for him.

Fleetwood were unbeaten throughout the month as well and Morris was quick to pass praise onto his colleagues for all their efforts in trying to chase that last automatic play off spot which we couldn’t quite manage, but he’s delighted we secured our play off spot.

‘We have worked really hard over Easter and over the month. We have done really well as a team, that’s the most important thing. The personal accolade is a nice thing, but the team performances go above that.’

On to the play off battle now given we know we face York.
