Fleetwood Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performances by George Glendon in the two one victory over Peterborough United and the one nil victory over Millwall in the weekend’s Easter double header was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Glendon was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Automatic promotion remains in Fleetwood’s sights following back-to-back wins on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Glendon was key to both, brilliantly setting up the second in the 2-1 win at Peterborough United, and assisting the winner against Millwall three days later.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Glendon for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Marek Rodak (Accrington Stanley), Daniel Pudil (Sheffield Wednesday), Tom Aldred (Blackpool), Krystian Pearce (Mansfield Town), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Stefan Johansen (Fulham), George Glendon (Fleetwood Town), Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (Rochdale), Ivan Toney (Scunthorpe United), Leon Clarke (Sheffield United), Lewis Grabban (Reading).

Manager – Mick McCarthy (Ipswich Town).
