Manager Graham Alexander has today secured the return of Blackburn Rovers winger Josh Morris on loan.

The 22 year old rejoins us initially until January 3rd and will no doubt be hoping to build on his successful loan spell with us in 2013-14, where he played 14 times all in for us, scoring his first professional goal on Good Friday – the winner against Cheltenham Town.

He also started all three of our Play Off games as we secured promotion to League 1, including the Final at Wembley where we overcame Burton Albion.

Blackburn have given Josh permission to play in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy next term, as well as a the League Cup and he linked up with us yesterday afternoon where the loan deal went through properly, and he will be travelling with the squad for tonight’s friendly against Colwyn Bay.

Speaking to the Official Site as the deal was announced, a happy Alexander said.

‘Josh made a great impression on everybody last season. He is very popular with all the players, he is a good footballer, a fit lad and motivated. He did a fantastic job when he came in last season. We had a conversation at the end of the season and he signed a new contract at Blackburn Rovers but we kept in contact over the summer. I am pleased we have been able to bring him back in on loan.’
