Twice we led at Highbury on Tuesday but twice we were pegged back by a stubborn Scunthorpe side that refused to be beaten in a game that ended two-two in the end.

We couldn’t have got off to a better start than we did as Proctor (3) thumped home a header from Haughton’s freekick delivery. We could have been two-up minutes later when Proctor turned provider but Scunthorpe ‘keeper Daniels saved well, which is something that Maxwell also had to do for us to keep out McSheffrey.

As half time approached Osborne’s pass to McSheffrey (45) saw him fire home the equaliser.

With a little under 20-minutes to play it looked like the winner had come our way when Morris (71) curled an effort into the top corner but Scunthorpe were level again when Evans (74), with the help of a deflection, beat Maxwell, minutes later to give the visitors a point.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us.
