Fleetwood’s League 1 season continued with a defeat against Port Vale at Highbury on Saturday.

September’s a month Fleetwood will be glad to see the back of, there’s still one-match to go too, as this hasn’t seen a win secured yet with Port Vale coming from behind to beat the Cod Army two-one at Highbury!

Grant (14) had Fleetwood ahead early on, with that taken into half time but Daniel (56) from distance made it one-all early in the second half.

With Daniel tripped in the box by Nirennold this saw Port Vale awarded a penalty, which Foley (65) scored to give Vale the win with Fleetwood dropping to 19th!

These were the match highlights.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 26th September 2015
Barnsley 2-0 Gillingham
Bradford 0-2 Peterborough
Bury 2-1 Coventry
Chesterfield 1-2 Burton
Fleetwood 1-2 Port Vale
Millwall 3-1 Rochdale
Oldham 1-1 Wigan
Sheff Utd 3-1 Doncaster
Shrewsbury 2-0 Blackpool
Southend 2-1 Scunthorpe
Swindon 1-2 Colchester
Walsall 1-1 Crewe

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Peterborough and Colchester, a few others make you sit up and take interest – even these two weren’t overly surprising as such – but there weren’t really any major surprises as such really?

Graham Westley, who will be under pressure to do a job as his appointment appears to have been made to a ‘mixed response’ at Peterborough, started with a win for Posh! A two-nil win at Bradford saw the home sides unbeaten run ended and not only got Westley off to a winning start but also kept an unbeaten run that Posh had been on going!

I’m not sure we should be ‘surprised’ by another Colchester win really! This win at Swindon makes it three in a row after wins at Sheffield United and the win at the Weston Homes Community Stadium against previously unbeaten Gillingham last weekend. This time the U’s saw off the Robins two-one to continue the unbeaten run, which extends to four-matches now.

Who was the Fleetwood Man of the Match in this game? That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.

Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most in this defeat?

Fleetwood are back in action this midweek with another League 1 game against Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium.
