Fleetwood showed the battling qualities we have as we came back to earn a point against one of the league 1 promotion favourites Sheffield United at Highbury.

An early lead had to be clawed back, but we managed this in a one-one draw on Saturday afternoon.

Sheffield United started well and almost took an early lead but Doyle’s effort, which beat Maxwell, came back off the woodwork but the opening goal wasn’t far behind when Harris (8) fired low past the Fleetwood ‘keeper.

If we wanted to get anything we knew we would have to step it up, and we did but clear cut chances were few, the closest we came in the first half being a couple of efforts from Proctor, both from distance.

The pressure was stepped up in the second half and this brought us an equaliser when Morris’ cross was headed home by Sarcevic (53), the man who sent us into league 1 scoring his first goal at this level, to level it up at one-one.

Proctor had another chance, working his way into the area before firing across goal whereas an unmarked O’Grady forced Maxwell into a save at the other end but we went even closer to winning it late on when Haughton’s 25-yard volley went just over.
