Young midfielder Conor Smith has signed a 12 month contract at Fleetwood Town and we have handed a first pro contract to Matty Williams.

Smith has come through our youth set up and impressed over the last few years, moving into Barry Nicholson’s under 21 squad at the end of the last campaign.

He has now signed a 12 month deal where he’ll hope to impress again at Development level properly in 2015-16, hoping to work his way into manager Graham Alexander’s plans.

Full back Williams will join him in the under 21 set up, with the second year scholar now having signed his first professional 12 month deal.

Nicholson told the Official Site.

‘I am delighted for Matty. He is a great lad and his attitude is first class. He moved up to the development squad last season and he improved quickly. We did everything we asked of him. The manager watched all the development matches towards the end of the season. He liked what he saw with Matty and it is great that he will be with us next season.’
