Fleetwood Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Devante Cole in the two nil victory over Wimbledon at the weekend at Highbury Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Cole was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Among those level with Peterborough on nine points from nine are Fleetwood Town, and Cole`s brace against AFC Wimbledon sealed their latest success. After coming off the bench to score the winner last week, Uwe Rosler handed the striker a starting spot, and he certainly made the most of his opportunity.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Cole for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Matt Gilks (Scunthorpe United), Jack O’Connell (Sheffield United), Liam Cooper (Leeds United), Tom Miller (Carlisle United), Ricky Holmes (Charlton Athletic), Conor Hourihane (Aston Villa), Sean Longstaff (Blackpool), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Devante Cole (Fleetwood Town), David Nugent (Derby County).
