Manager Steven Pressley has announced the capture of Wes Burns on a loan spell from Bristol City and said he expects him to get plenty of game time.

The Welsh striker comes in on loan until the end of the season and the spell will expire on May 8.

Having featured for the Ashton Gate outfit 17 times so far this year in all competitions, but having only found the net once, they want to get him out for regular game time as the continue their Championship battle against relegation and hopefully Fleetwood will benefit from that.

He came in yesterday and goes straight into the weekend’s squad to face Scunthorpe United at Highbury Stadium.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained about the capture.

‘Wes adds strength to our group as we prepare for a 17 game programme over such a short period of time. From our experiences over the last two or three months we`ve been thin on the ground, and that has been really evident recently. We`ve played a number of players out of position and have asked different things from them, with the likes of Conor McLaughlin playing in central midfield against Shrewsbury. It`s clear that we require more strength in depth and Wes will bring competition to the group as well as goals. He`ll get game time here because we`ve got so many games in such a short period of time. It`s healthy for him and healthy for the group.’
