Fleetwood Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Amari’i Bell in the one nil victory over Shrewsbury Town on Monday at the Greenhous Meadow was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bell was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Fleetwood climbed into Sky Bet League One`s top six with back-to-back wins over the New Year period. Bell helped the Cod Army to two clean sheets, and his cross provided the match-winning goal against Shrewsbury Town in a second successive 1-0 victory.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Bell for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Jak Alnwick (Port Vale), Amari’i Bell (Fleetwood Town), Chey Dunkley (Oxford United), Christian Burgess (Portsmouth), Kieron Freeman (Sheffield United), Brennan Dickenson (Colchester United), Oliver Rathbone (Rochdale), Pawel Wszolek (Queens Park Rangers), Nelson Oliveira (Norwich City), Josh Magennis (Charlton Athletic), Ollie Watkins (Exeter City).

Manager – Gareth Ainsworth (Wycombe Wanderers).
