Following three away trips on the trot, Fleetwood return to Highbury action this weekend when we face Chesterfield, and manager Graham Alexander is relishing the challenge, positive about the game, and also delighted to return to home soil now.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game Alexander said he was rightly pleased with how our season has gone as we have picked up a maximum nine points available having won all of our opening league games, and whilst it tells us very little at the moment, we are the only team in League One to have won all three and we sit pretty at the top of the table.

‘Recent results have been the culmination of performances. The levels of performances have been excellent, and that’s something we need to try and maintain. It’s a long season and we’re not going to get carried away after only three games.’

With Jamie Proctor slotting right in following his move, scoring in all three league games so far to boot, Alexander went on to say he was more than happy with his efforts and the way he’d integrated and all he’s doing at the moment is justifying why we made him a target in the first place.

‘We knew of Jamie’s qualities and that’s why we brought him to the club. He can score goals, lead the line and he’d done that. In his first game he came on at half time and had a point to prove, but I believe everyone’s got a point to prove all the time. I like players to have that mentality going into games and going into their work.’

The gaffer goes on to say that’s it not just Proctor who deserves credit for that though as we have had some great individual performances from the whole team when they have been called upon and that has more than contributed to our good team showings so far.
